FAQ
RevoDeck™ is a premium composite decking designed for Australian outdoor conditions. Our decking boards are fully capped and UV-rated, providing excellent durability and resistance to moisture and everyday wear.
RevoDeck™ is low maintenance and does not require regular sanding, staining or painting like traditional timber decking. With a range of 10 colours available, it is suitable for outdoor areas including patios, balconies, pool surrounds and entertaining spaces.
RevoDeck™ offers both premium solid-core decking and budget-friendly hollow composite decking.
Our solid-core decking is our recommended option for customers looking for maximum strength, durability and long-term performance, backed by a 25-year warranty when installed according to our warranty requirements.
We also offer hollow composite decking with a 10-year warranty as a more affordable option. While solid-core decking is our first recommendation, we understand that every project has a different budget. Our hollow range allows us to provide a cost-effective composite decking solution for budget-conscious customers.
Not sure which option is right for your project? Our team can help you compare the options based on your application and budget.
Our standard RevoDeck™ composite decking boards are 5.2 metres long, 140 mm wide and 22 mm thick, providing excellent coverage and helping reduce the number of joins required across larger decking areas.
We also offer matching accessories and finishing options, including solid-edge boards, fascia boards and bullnose boards, to help achieve a clean and professional finish.
If you provide us with your deck measurements, our team can help calculate the number of boards and fixings required for your project.
RevoDeck™ is available in a range of 10 colours, giving you plenty of options to complement both modern and traditional outdoor spaces.
Our colours include Jarrah, Silver Grey, Platinum Grey, Charcoal Black, Light Grey, Teak, Spotted Gum, Agedwood, Ultra Agedwood and Ivory White.
Not sure which colour will suit your home? You can request samples to see and compare the colours before making your final decision.
Yes. RevoDeck™ composite decking is fully capped on both sides and UV-rated, providing additional protection against Australia’s harsh outdoor conditions.
The protective capping helps protect the boards from UV exposure, moisture, stains and everyday weathering, while helping maintain their colour and appearance over time.
This makes RevoDeck™ a durable, low-maintenance alternative to traditional timber decking for Australian outdoor spaces.
RevoDeck™ composite decking is fully capped on both sides and UV-rated, specifically designed to perform in harsh Australian outdoor conditions.
However, no outdoor product can be guaranteed against the effects of the sun forever. Just like a car exposed to sunlight over many years, some natural colour change may eventually occur.
Our UV-resistant capping is designed to provide excellent protection against fading and weathering, helping RevoDeck™ maintain its colour and appearance for as long as possible.
While nothing exposed to the Australian sun lasts unchanged forever, RevoDeck™ is designed to provide long-lasting performance in Australian conditions.
Yes. RevoDeck™ composite decking is an excellent option for pool surrounds and other outdoor areas exposed to water.
Unlike traditional timber, composite decking does not require regular oiling, staining or painting. RevoDeck™ boards are fully capped on both sides, helping protect the boards from moisture and everyday outdoor exposure.
For pool areas, correct installation, drainage and ventilation are important.
RevoDeck™ composite decking has achieved a P2 slip-resistance rating, providing a high level of slip resistance and making it an excellent choice for outdoor areas where surfaces may regularly become wet.
This makes RevoDeck™ particularly well suited to pool surrounds, patios, alfresco areas and other outdoor spaces.
Like any outdoor surface, regular cleaning is still important to prevent dirt, algae and other contaminants from building up and affecting surface grip.
With its P2 slip rating, fully capped construction and UV-rated surface, RevoDeck™ is designed with Australian outdoor conditions in mind.
Yes. RevoDeck™ supplies FREE stainless-steel clips and screws with our decking orders.
The complimentary screws supplied are suitable for installation onto timber or composite joists/frames.
If your deck is being installed onto steel joists or a steel frame, compatible steel fixing screws are required and are available to purchase separately from our Accessories options.
Our hidden fixing system provides a clean, professional finish with no visible screws through the top of the decking boards, while also helping maintain consistent spacing between boards.
If you’re unsure which fixings you need, simply let us know what type of subframe you’re using and our team can help.
Yes. RevoDeck™ composite decking is DIY-friendly and can be installed by homeowners who are comfortable using standard building tools and following the correct installation requirements.
Our hidden clip system helps maintain consistent spacing and provides a clean finish with no visible screws through the top of the decking boards.
For installation and warranty purposes, please pay particular attention to the following requirements:
- 400 mm joist centres are recommended and qualify for our 25-year warranty.
- Joist spacing must not exceed 450 mm centres. Installations at up to 450 mm centres are covered by a 15-year warranty.
- A minimum 5 mm expansion gap must be maintained at end-to-end joins/butt joins.
- Correct drainage, ventilation and subframe construction must also be maintained.
For the best long-term performance, we recommend installing RevoDeck™ at 400 mm joist centres and following the RevoDeck™ Installation Guide.
If you’re unsure about any part of the installation, contact our team before installing the boards.
Yes. RevoDeck™ composite decking can be installed over an existing concrete area, provided the decking is installed on a suitable joist/subframe system and not directly onto the concrete.
The subframe should be properly supported and secured to prevent movement or flexing. If the concrete surface has minor variations or slope, appropriate packers or levelling methods can be used to create consistent support.
For RevoDeck™ decking, we recommend 400 mm joist centres for maximum support and to qualify for our 25-year warranty. Joist centres must not exceed 450 mm, which qualifies for a 15-year warranty.
Adequate drainage and ventilation underneath the decking must also be maintained. Water should not be allowed to remain trapped beneath the deck.
RevoDeck™ composite decking is designed to be low maintenance, with no regular sanding, staining, oiling or painting required like traditional timber decking.
For everyday cleaning, simply sweep away loose dirt and debris, then mop the decking with warm water. For more stubborn dirt or marks, a mild household detergent can be added if required.
Spills such as oil, grease and food should be cleaned as soon as practical.
Regular cleaning will help maintain the appearance of your RevoDeck™ decking.
Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning products that may damage the protective capped surface.
Our premium solid-core RevoDeck™ composite decking comes with up to a 25-year warranty when installed in accordance with RevoDeck™ installation requirements.
For the full 25-year warranty, we recommend installing the decking at 400 mm joist centres. Installations with joist centres greater than 400 mm and up to a maximum of 450 mm are covered by a 15-year warranty.
Our budget-friendly hollow composite decking comes with a 10-year warranty.
Correct installation is important for warranty coverage, including maintaining the required joist spacing, providing a minimum 5 mm gap at end-to-end/butt joins, and following the RevoDeck™ Installation Guide.
Please refer to our full Warranty Terms & Conditions for complete warranty coverage, exclusions and requirements.

Like any outdoor surface exposed to direct sunlight, RevoDeck™ composite decking can become warm or hot, particularly during Australian summer conditions.
Surface temperature also depends significantly on the colour you choose. Generally, the lighter the decking colour, the less heat it will absorb, while darker colours tend to become warmer in direct sunlight.
From our experience, RevoDeck™ provides a more comfortable surface underfoot than concrete in hot conditions.
If heat is an important consideration for your outdoor area, particularly around pools or areas with full sun exposure, we recommend choosing one of our lighter RevoDeck™ colours.
No. RevoDeck™ composite decking is designed to be low maintenance, so there is no need for regular painting, oiling, staining or sealing like traditional timber decking.
Our decking is fully capped on both sides and UV-rated, helping protect the boards from everyday outdoor exposure while maintaining their appearance.
For normal maintenance, simply keep the deck free from dirt and debris and mop with warm water when required.
This means you can spend less time maintaining your deck and more time enjoying your outdoor space.
Yes. RevoDeck™ composite decking can be cut and worked using common woodworking tools, making it suitable for professional installers and DIY projects.
Boards can be cut to the required length to suit your deck layout, steps, borders and finishing details. We recommend using sharp, good-quality tools and suitable blades for composite decking.
Where possible, we recommend measuring and cutting the boards during cooler temperatures. Composite decking naturally expands in warmer conditions and contracts when temperatures fall.
If boards are measured and cut during very hot conditions, they may already be expanded. Once cooler weather arrives, the boards can contract further than anticipated, potentially leaving larger end gaps than intended.
Always allow for the required expansion and contraction and maintain a minimum 5 mm gap at end-to-end/butt joins, in accordance with the RevoDeck™ Installation Guide.
Yes. RevoDeck™ composite decking is suitable for coastal and seaside outdoor areas.
Unlike traditional timber, RevoDeck™ does not require regular painting, staining or oiling. Our boards are fully capped on both sides and UV-rated, making them a low-maintenance option for outdoor environments exposed to sun and moisture.
In coastal locations, we recommend regularly rinsing and cleaning the decking to remove salt, sand and other surface build-up.
Correct installation, drainage, ventilation and the appropriate fixings should always be used to help achieve the best long-term performance.
RevoDeck™ composite decking can be installed over timber, composite or steel joists, provided the subframe is correctly constructed and suitable for the application.
For the best performance, we recommend 400 mm joist centres, which qualifies for our 25-year warranty. Joist spacing must not exceed 450 mm centres, which qualifies for a 15-year warranty.
RevoDeck™ supplies FREE stainless-steel clips and screws suitable for timber and composite joists with decking orders.
If you’re installing onto steel joists, compatible steel fixing screws are required and can be purchased separately through the Accessories options on our website.
No. RevoDeck™ decking boards should not be installed directly onto soil, grass or other ground surfaces.
The decking should be installed on a properly constructed and supported timber, composite or steel subframe. This provides the required support while allowing appropriate drainage and airflow underneath the deck.
For best performance, we recommend 400 mm joist centres and ensuring the subframe is stable, level and properly secured.
If you’re unsure how to prepare the area for your deck, please contact the RevoDeck™ team before installation.
RevoDeck™ composite decking is designed to avoid many of the common maintenance issues associated with traditional timber decking.
It does not splinter like natural timber and is highly resistant to rot, moisture and termite damage, making it a great option for Australian outdoor living.
Because RevoDeck™ does not require regular sanding, oiling or staining, it also provides a low-maintenance, comfortable surface for family outdoor areas, pool surrounds and entertaining spaces.
As with any building product, correct installation, drainage and ventilation are important for long-term performance.
Yes. RevoDeck™ composite decking can be used for stairs and steps when installed on a correctly constructed and supported subframe.
For a clean, professional finish, we offer matching bullnose boards, solid-edge boards and fascia boards, which can be used to finish exposed edges and stair areas.
Because stairs require additional support and careful finishing, correct joist placement and fixing are particularly important. We recommend planning your stair layout before cutting or installing the decking.
If you’re unsure which boards or accessories you need for your stairs, please email us your measurements, plans or photos at Sales@revodeck.com.au, and our team will be happy to assist.
